Laura Mason, PA-C
Laura joined the High Plains Heart & Vascular team in January 2015. Born and raised in Colorado, she received a Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado in Boulder. After college, Laura worked in a cardiology clinic which is where she found a true passion for cardiac medicine and working with patients. Laura attended graduate school at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon and earned her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2012. She worked in Salem, Oregon for a cardiology group until 2014, but wanted to return to her home state to continue her career.
Laura is thrilled with the opportunity to join the High Plains Heart & Vascular team in January 2015. She is a board-certified provider who is trained to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with cardiovascular disease, which includes close collaboration the physicians at High Plains Heart and Vascular Center. Laura is passionate about patient education and encouraging patients take a more active role in their health care by learning about their heart health. She has enjoyed getting to know her patients and their families in the Brighton community. “I believe that every visit with a patient is an opportunity to positively impact someone’s life. I am passionate about being a thoughtful and caring provider and working with each person to individually address their cardiac needs.”
She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants (CAPA), and American College of Cardiology (ACC). She is certified through the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. In her free time, Laura enjoys running, skiing, traveling, and exploring all that beautiful Colorado has to offer.
